Boracay, a trip to the beach

Paradise of the East

Our family seldomly meets everyone together that's why when my aunt spent weeks of vacation in the Philippines, my home country, we immediately spent 4 days of vacation in the world famous beach, the Boracay island.

There are 2 ways how to go Boracay island from Manila,

via Cebu Pacific going to Aklan. From the airport, there are buses from the Aklan airport going to Caticlan. Then from Caticlan, go to the Caticlan Jetty Port where small boats will take you to the island itself. Boracay island is less than 30 minutes from the port.

other ways is via sea, just like what we did via 2go ship going to Caticlan. 2go ships docks in Batangas Pier, you can either book online or buy tickets to the pier itself. informations: http://travel.2go.com.ph/index.asp go there. (tip:use Batangas as your point of origin, because if you put in Manila, Caticlan won't appear).
for bus informations going to the pier, check the following links: http://jam.com.ph/bus_terminal_philippines.html : http://www.alpsthebus.com/customer-service.htm.

anyways, from Caticlan, we were transported from Caticlan Jetty Port to Tabon Port because at the time we went there, waves are bigger in Jetty port than in Tabon.

There are several tricycles that could transport you to your destinations. As for us, we were transported to La Carmela De Boracay (http://www.lacarmeladeboracay.com/). There are several hotels in the beach front.

The beach front itself is amazing. Aside from the sea and the white sand, you can also enjoy several restaurants that serve local and western dishes and souvenir shops which offers local products.

Aside from taking bath in the ocean, you can also enjoy different activities in Boracay such as ATV, Parasailing, Island hopping, helmet diving, where you will be taken underwater wearing a helmet, and more. As for us, we took the ATV during our day 1. This includes 20 minute ATV and 40 minutes stay at a local park which has a view of the whole island itself. Overall, we 470 pesos for the whole ATV, 350 pesos for the ATV and 120 for the park, although some offers you more than 500 for ATV so you have to be careful in choosing an= agent. you can choose you agent in the beach itself as there are some local agent who will approach you in the beach itself. After the ATV experience, you can also enjoy picture taking at a Parrot and at a Butterfly museum. You can also enjoy a ride, (the name i forgot). Extra payment? none, it's free when you take the ATV, i think it's part of what paid for in ATV.

Day 2, our activities are island hopping and helmet diving. We hired the same agent we hired when we did the ATV. Helmet diving came after island hopping with snorkeling. You can enjoy the fishes and the reefs under the sea.

Traveling in the Philippines can be fun and very cheap so do not worry and don't stress yourself and have fun......

Smile! God bless all travelers!
